Life Fitness Platinum Treadmill - side viewYou'll get just $1 change from a $9,000 check for the Platinum Treadmill
Life Fitness are to treadmills what Rolls Royce is to cars - they even have a machine that will set you back $9,000! If you don't have that sort of cash behind a cushion on your couch, they do have a range for the home. However, you'll still have to find around $2,500, but you do get a top quality model for that.

Life Fitness, based in Minnesota, are one of the oldest fitness equipment brands around, in fact, they've been on the scene since the 1960s in the guise of Lifecycle Inc when they invented the first piece of electronic exercise equipment.

They continued with the bikes through the 1980s, eventually branching out in to rowing machine - their LifeRower could pass for a robot on the original Star Trek! Many of their machines, now including treadmills in the early 1990s, had color screens with graphics looking like the early arcade video games of the time.

Fast-forward to the 21st Century and Life Fitness have evolved into a truly, high tech company that leads from the front. As early as 2008, they introduced the online 'virtual trainer' - the stuff of sci-fi back then. They've continued to innovate, bringing in group training so you can train and compete with people anywhere on the planet. But it's not just about the software - their hardware is really top stuff.

When you've been around for over 45 years, you surely have some skin in the game, so to speak. Life Fitness have made well over 1/2 million exercise bikes and treadmills in turn. They boast the largest range of fitness equipment in the world and can be found in many gyms. You don't get to be the lead dog and maintain that position by resting on your laurels. Life Fitness continue to develop their range, because you know what they say... if you're not the lead dog, the view ain't so great!

Yes, you have to be prepared to reach deep into your pockets to buy one of their treadmills, but boy... do you get a great machine!

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Now you would expect such an established and renown company would have a customer service to match. However, we've heard mixed reviews of them. Of course, you always have to take reviews at face value. People who've had a good experience rarely go to the effort of write about it. Yet we're quick to kick up if dissatisfied - especially if you've coughed up $2,500 or more. But even so, you wouldn't think many would have cause to complain about Life Fitness, yet there are a number who do so.

Having said that, the majority of Life Fitness customers will have no reason to contact them. We imagine a room with a single telephone covered in cobwebs that rings once a year when there is a problem, so perhaps they're out of practice :0)

Life Fitness Treadmills

All Life Fitness treadmills come with their FlexDeck shock absorption system to reduce impact making them some of the most comfortable belts you can run on - and your knees will thank you for it. And as you would expect for the price and quality, the warranty on their machines. You get a lifetime on frames; 10-years on  the motor; 5-years on parts; 3-years on consoles; and 1-year on labor. Piece of mind practically guaranteed!

Here's a selection of their models - more detailed reviews to follow shortly.
Life Fitness T3: Rating 8.5/10 8.5 Stars
The entry model in the Life Fitness range will get you started for around $2,600. And what a great way to start. The T3 oozes quality with its sleek lines and quality components. But note, this is NOT a folding treadmill. if you don't have the space, the F3 would be a better option.

There's a choice of two consoles, The Go Console is the standard fit and has all the functions and more you'd expect - it's also very easy to program and use. The upgrade option (costing extra) is the Track Connect Console with extra entertainment functions for your tablet, extra workouts, and user profiling that will track your performance and progress. Other brands have these features, but not usually bolted on to such a fine treadmill.

With a large deck, plenty of workout options and a top speed of 12 mph, you have no excuse for not getting fit. Oh, and it will last for years
