Unbiased Home Treadmill Reviews

[ Last updated: 16th January 2021 ]
Unbiased treadmill reviews and ratingsUnbiased treadmill reviews and ratings
Our treadmill reviews and ratings are based on real users who have had the machine for at least one month. I test many of these machines myself when I can get my hands on a loan machine from the makers and retailers.

What you get here is an honest, unbiased reviews and not the boiler-plate description you can find repeated on multiple websites. We'll tell you exactly how it is. We don't shy away from being critical of poor-quality, over-priced treadmills, or heaping praise on the latest innovation on some incredible machines.

I've listed below treadmills by price bracket and its overall rating, If a model has 45% in the under $500 section it's actually a pretty good score. Yet if a machine in the $750 to $1,000 category has 45%, you can be sure we don't rate it highly.

We keep the rating system simple for easy comparison. We rate:
  • Build quality
  • Features
  • Value for Money

These are combined to award a machine an overall score.

You can't expect a $500 treadmill to compare well with a $4,000 commercial model, but it could still deliver results if you're planning on using it for a couple of 20 minute sessions a week. If it can do that for the price, it's a good buy. And where applicable, we also rate the customer service of the main brands. How a company deals with you after they've taken your money is, we believe, a good indicator of the company's ethos and hence the quality of their products.

Amazon Ratings: Note, we're often asked why our rating of a treadmill can differ from customers on Amazon. For example, why does our SereneLife score only 35% when Amazon customers rate it 4 stars (80%). This is down to customer expectation. If you spend $320 on a machine that allows you to walk and jog, and takes up little space, then you're going to be satisfied. But remember, we're reviewing and rating treadmills across the whole range so you can make an accurate comparison.

The table below breaks models down in to price-range so you can compare machines within each band on its own merits.
