LifeSpan Fitness
LifeSpan Fitness are a relative newcomer to the fitness equipment scene, starting the brand in 2001. But they certainly haven't stood still in that time being quick to bring in new ideas to fitness solutions. One of these is their LifeSpan Workplace range of active workstations for the office including treadmill and exercise bike desks!
But if you like to keep your work and recreation separate, they have a good range of treadmills for the home, plus a light commercial machine, also suitable for domestic users.
And you get the impression the design teams actually speak to runners. With large, easy-to-use and read touchscreens that are easy to operate while running, and some well-thought out metrics that you rarely see on other brands. For example, the track layout for your workout is particular good to see your current performance. LifeSpan have also worked with exercise physiologists to design their built-in, pre-set workouts.
We also are big fans of their RW7000 rowing machine :0) LifeSpan Fitness has their HQ in Salt Lake City, Utah.

LifeSpan Fitness Treadmills
A wide range with prices starting around $999, going up to $2,800. All have good-sized, well-cushioned decks, most models have large touchscreens with multiple display layouts to choose from. The warranties are generous, all with lifetime on the frames, and 5-year to lifetime on the motors, depending on the model, plus 5 to 7-years on parts, and one to two-years on labor. And all models come with a 30-day money-back guarantee if you're not happy.
One feature you don't see too often is the ability to run downhill on some of their models... neat.

LifeSpan TR1200i:
Rating
8.0/10
The TR1200i will set you back around $999 and offers great value for money in our view. It comes with 21 built-in programs, including weight loss, sports training, plus 2 you can customize to your liking.
The color screen is a great plus - although be great if it was larger. You can choose from four display layouts to your preferred view for your performance and workout statistics. The large deck (20" x 56") is comfortable, using LifeSpan's 8 Compression Shock System. The motor is very quiet and covered by their 5-year warranty, so peace of mind comes with it. And with a top speed of 11 mph and 15 levels of incline, it should be more than enough to challenge you, unless you're Usain Bolt! With added features such as BlueTooth and heart-rate sensors, the TR1200i is a serious contender for you attention in the mid-price range. Read our full review here.>>> |
