Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7515 Treadmill Review
The Sunny Health SF-T7515 is one of this popular brands best-sellers - and it's not hard to see why. For a reasonable price you get quite a lot of treadmill. It's also a compact model (see dimensions below), so will suit anyone with limited space. But, bear in mind, if you're tall or a large-framed runner you may find it a bit of a challenge at first to get used to the smaller belt - especially if you're used to running on a gym treadmill.
SF-T7515 ReviewASSEMBLY Don't be put off by the long list of components - it details every part in the manual, and at first glance it appears to have more widgets than the Titanic! However, much of the machine comes pre-assembled, so it's not as hard as it first appears when you look at the instructions. There are only five steps and most of the procedures are simple with only a couple requiring a steady hand, but note, two people are recommended to make it easier. Also note, the belt need lubricating before use, as with most treadmills. It should take only around 30-45 minutes for most.
Now you're ready to go. FEATURES & FUNCTIONS The Sunny ST-T7515 treadmill is a compact, budget machine with enough features to make it stand out of the crowd among the competition in the same price-range. But as we've mentioned above, a smaller model may be great if you don't have much room, but not so good if you don't feel comfortable running on it. The belt measures a modes 16.5" x 49.", so we suggest you measure this out on the floor to get an idea of the running surface. If you're using the machine just to walk up to a brisk pace, this probably isn't an issue, but if you're looking to run, it could be a deal-breaker.
And talking of running, the top speed is only 8mph (12.8kph). This may be fast enough for the novice user, but it's barely getting up to a sprint for the experienced runner. However, the T7515 does have a maximum incline of 12% with 12 settings from 0 though to 12. Note, 12% is the equivalent of 6.9 degrees. If burning calories and fat is your main objective, running at 8mph on an incline of 12% for just 3 minutes will do the job! But another consideration when it comes to top speed, is the capability of the motor. If a machine has a maximum speed of 12mph, then the motor will happily cope with 8mph all day long. So coming on to the motor. It's a 2.2 HP (horsepower), but note a CHP (continuous horsepower) motor is better as it's smoother running, and more reliable - for more information on treadmill motors see our Need Help? section below. The T7515 motor is not noisy and seems smooth enough at the mid-range speeds, but it does start to get a little louder at the top end, But one thing to bear in mind - the warranty on all components is a miserly 90 days. However, many users report having no problems with the motor for at least a year, and even then, most can be solved with a relatively cheap repair. And while we're on the part about warranties, few brands have a better reputation for after-sales and customer service. Sunny really do pull out all the stops to keep you happy. The deck absorbs much of the impact of your foot strikes making it easier on your joints than road running. And finally, before we get onto the console and display, this is a folding model. The mechanism is pretty good allowing for easy folding/unfolding. It also has transport wheels - you tip it up and roll it away when you're done. NEED HELP? ![]() Not sure what any of this means? Confused by the techno-jargon?

See our guide here >>> CONSOLE & WORKOUT PROGRAMS Sunny call this a 'Smart' treadmill, so just how smart is it? Well, it won't help your kids with their schoolwork, but it has some good pre-set programs to help motivate you - 12 in total, plus 3 countdown workouts.
The SF-T7515 is BlueTooth enabled so you can sync it with your equally smart phone, to play your music through the built-in speakers (pretty good quality), and also answer your calls. But, if you can answer the phone while working out, you're not working hard enough in our book! But if you're walking or doing a light jog, then this can be a useful feature. There is also a device holder so you can place your phone or tablet on the console. This is handy to watch workout videos, as this doesn't have online functions, but then you'll have to pay a lot more to get a treadmill that does. The LCD screen is quite small, but the data is displayed large enough for most to read. It shows the usual stuff, such as time, distance, calories (estimate), speed and incline.
The countdown programs are a good feature. You can set one of three goals: distance, time or calories. So, for example, you can set the target of burning 500 calories, and the treadmill will countdown until you're down to zero. Other programs automatically control the speed and incline so you don't have to keep adjusting the settings. The pre-sets are made up of 10 segments that you can tailor to your needs. This means you can set the 1st segment at a specific speed, incline and duration, then choose the setting for the 2nd segment, and right through to the 10th. For instance, one could be set for interval training of running at 5mph for a minute, 8mph for a minute and so forth. Or 6mph at 0% incline for 3 minutes, then adding an incline for intervals in between. It's quite versatile and once you've figured out the process, pretty easy to set-up. If you like to stay in control, you have the manual option and either one-touch buttons to select speed and incline; step up and down buttons, plus the handrails also have these buttons. This is a useful feature that you won't find on all models in this price-range.

SF-T7515 REVIEW SUMMARY:The Sunny Health SF-T7515 has a lot to offer for a good price. It has enough features to keep you interested and coming back to train daily, and the 12 pre-set programs provide the variation so you don't get bored. It's compact size is an advantage... or disadvantage for the reasons mentioned above, but if you don't have large rooms (or pockets), and you're just looking to get fit and not win an Olympic gold, this is well worth your consideration.
